The Best Beauty Apps to Download Now

We use technology for everything, so why not incorporate it into our beauty routines? Everyone knows there’s an app for everything, and that includes ones for shopping, making appointments, beauty tips and so much more.

When I started searching through the app store on my phone, I will admit it was a little difficult to find quality apps. The beauty industry may not be at the top of its game when it comes to this — many of them were things I wouldn’t use or were simply not functional. However, after sifting through and doing some research, I’ve discovered that there are some great apps out there that can make your life easier and are even fun to use!

Download these top beauty apps to help maintain your beauty routine, find ways to switch it up, save money and more:

Bella (Beauty on Demand)

Bella is a free app that lets you call in a stylist on demand. The app offers several services such as blowouts, updos and makeup. Only the best stylists in New York and the DMV are chosen to provide services, so you know you’re getting good quality. For most services all you need is a chair and an outlet for styling tools. You can even save your hair and makeup preferences to make the process quicker.

Pretty in My Pocket

Pretty in My Pocket brings together beauty and social media. Create an account, follow other beauty lovers, post pictures, review products and more. To top it all off, you can also shop all of your favorite brands on this app. Whether you want to learn more about new products, read tutorials or share looks with your friends, this app has it all!

Flawless

This app lets you find color inspiration everywhere you go. Take a picture and the pp finds lip shades that match the shades in your photo. You can also use this to find cheaper alternatives to name-brand lipsticks. If a color you love isn’t available, you can create your own custom shade and order it straight from the app.

OPI

Nail polish fans will love this app. Choose your skin tone and nail length and then try on every single one of OPIs shades to see how they look. Filter by color or collection and save your favorites.

Pretty Quick

When you need a manicure or other beauty service last minute, this app makes the process so much easier. The free app helps you find beauty salons and spas near you with appointments open right now. Many salons in the DMV take bookings from the app, so there’s a good chance you’ll be able to find what you’re looking for. You can book directly on the app and have your nails done in no time.

SuperDuper

Here’s another one for the nail polish lovers. This app helps you find imitations of higher-end nail polish brands. Price comparisons help you spend less money and the app features pictures so you can compare for yourself.

Sephora

Sephora’s app has a little bit of everything for the beauty lover. You can shop right on the app and save your favorite products to a list to buy when you’re ready. The app also has a social aspect. Users can post pictures of their makeup looks with what products they used, and others can like and share the photos. The app even has a virtual artist, which lets you try on an almost infinite amount of lipsticks virtually and buy the ones you like best!

Plum Perfect

Plum Perfect uses facial recognition to determine the tones of your hair, skin, eyes and lips. It then uses this to pick makeup that matches your complexion and will look great on you. You can save your favorites into a wish list, and the app features links to buy the products.
